ASOKWA Municipal Assembly (DSWCD) and Education Directorate Celebrate World Menstrual Hygiene Day at Gyinyase

The ASOKWA Municipal Assembly, through its Department of Social Welfare and Community Development (DSWCD), in collaboration with the Education Directorate, marked World Menstrual Hygiene Day with a vibrant celebration at Gyinyase, focused on raising awareness and promoting menstrual health education.

The event brought together over 400 students, including JHS students from Gyinyase M/A JHS and upper primary A and B. It aimed to empower young girls, reduce stigma surrounding menstruation, and encourage open dialogue on menstrual hygiene management.

The celebration was graced by several key dignitaries, including the Regional Director of Community Development, the Director of Social Welfare and Community Development, a representative of the Municipal Education Director, the School SHEP Coordinator, the Girl Child Education Coordinator, the Gyinyase Assembly Member, and a Reverend Father, whose presence highlighted the collective commitment to girls’ health and well-being.

The program featured educational talks, interactive discussions, and the distribution of sanitary products, providing a supportive environment for students to learn, engage, and speak openly about menstrual health.

The event was generously sponsored by OFI, Yazz, and other individuals, whose contributions played a key role in making the celebration a success.
