On 31st December 2025, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) led the disbursement of logistics and financial support to thirty-nine (39) Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) within the municipality.
The items distributed included chest freezers, sewing machines, fufu pounding machines, bags of charcoal, phone accessories, Bluetooth speakers, and pen drives. Additionally, cheques were issued to beneficiaries to support medical expenses, educational needs, business activities, and the operations of PWD organizations.
The disbursement formed part of the Assembly’s commitment to promoting social inclusion, economic empowerment, and improved livelihoods among Persons With Disabilities.
The programme was graced by the Management of the Assembly, Honorable Assembly Members, and the Head of the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development. In her remarks, the Head of Department emphasized that regular monitoring would be conducted to ensure the proper and intended use of the items and funds received.
The Municipal Chief Executive reiterated the Assembly’s resolve to continue implementing interventions aimed at enhancing the welfare and self-reliance of Persons With Disabilities in the municipality.
